Join the Backlisted crew at Foyles Charing Cross Road for a very spooky live recording of their Hallowe’en special. In this episode, John and Andy talk to Backlisted regulars Andrew Male and Laura Varnam about Arthur Conan Doyle’s Round the Fire Stories.
Andrew Male is a freelance writer and editor on music and film, and the former deputy editor of MOJO magazine.
Dr Laura Varnam is the Lecturer in Old and Middle English at University College, Oxford. Laura's first book, The Church as Sacred Space in Middle English Literature and Culture, was published in 2018.
The live event will begin at 6.30pm with the discussion of Conan Doyle’s haunting tales, which will be recorded for future broadcast. Following a short break, there will be a recording of a bonus episode of Locklisted, the podcast available exclusively to supporters of the show’s Patreon – which will give the audience the chance to ask the panellists questions about this month’s book, Arthur Conan Doyle or the Backlisted podcast!
A number of the stories discussed in this show are included in Arthur Conan Doyle's Gothic Tales, published by Oxford University Press, available as part of the Book and Ticket option for this event.
Doors will open at 6pm and the recording will begin promptly at 6:30pm.
